Total Solar Eclipse in San Francisco
We spent this last weekend in San Francisco and thought we’d stay an extra day to watch the eclipse with friends. I read that Los Angeles would only be getting 62% moon-to-sun coverage, and that San Francisco would be getting 75% coverage, so why not! We scrambled to get eclipse glasses at the last minute but it ended up being okay, as it was so foggy, when paired with sunglasses, the veil of fog made it a little easier to look at the sun.

I find solar eclipses so fascinating and want to plan a whole (photo) trip around the next one. In the US, the next total eclipse will be in 2024 but there will be another one in South America in July of 2019. What a great excuse to visit someplace new!
This is Foof, our friends Phil & Beth’s cat, looking up at the sky through the skylight in the kitchen. Can he see the eclipse from his spot on top of the fridge? I hope so.
