Kelly & Ben’s Santa Barbara Wedding

I arrived to the Casa de la Guerra for Kelly & Ben’s reception and couldn’t help but notice the confetti that was already embedded in the gravel. With the evidence of parties-past at your feet, it was unmistakable that we had come to the right place.

I wanted to share with you some of the photos I took from Kelly & Ben’s Santa Barbara Wedding. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again here, but it’s a wonderful thing when you leave a shoot and you feel like you’ve made some new friends. It was hard to say good-bye at the end of the night, but I found satisfaction in knowing that I was able to document the energy of the night for later days. So, here’s to always remembering the night you threw an epic party for everyone that you hold near and dear to your heart.

If that wasn’t enough, I was also so excited to be able to shoot in two historical landmarks: the ceremony at The Mural Room at the Santa Barbara Courthouse and the reception at the Casa de la Guerra. It was a real treat to be surrounded by so many beautiful (historical) details.

Take a look at the slideshow I designed for Kelly & Ben’s wedding day!

And holy cow, look at this sunset!

A few other of my favorites from the reception.

“Among the many, many photographers in the LA/Santa Barbara area, we ended up choosing her because we liked her work, her attitude, and felt like she understood our perspective on what we wanted out of our wedding photos. We thought she’d be a great person to spend countless hours hanging out with that day. We were right – during our reception, she ended up easily mingling with our family and friends while taking so many memorable photos along the way.” – Kelly & Ben
