Cindy & Eric's Joshua Tree National Park Elopement

We're coming up on the 2 year anniversary of these two, and since this elopement has always been a favorite of mine, I thought I'd share it on the blog today. Cindy & Eric already had an upcoming wedding planned in the midwest, where they were also relocating for Eric's new job. But Joshua Tree was too special to them and they wanted to say good-bye their own way, so they decided to elope there on the down-low. It was just the two of them, an officiant, and me as their witness and photographer. For a couple hours we wandered around the desert, had a short ceremony next to an arched Yucca tree, ate grocery store cake, and drank champagne out of martini and scotch glasses. When our time was over, I watched them drive off, all their belongings packed in the back of their car, where they had a cross country drive to Chicago ahead of them in the morning. They still had their mid-west wedding a few months later, but I'll always remember them this way.
