Charlotte & Leo’s Love-in-the-time-of-COVID Micro Wedding, Los Feliz & Griffith Observatory

🌴Charlotte & Leo🌴 first reached out to me to capture their Beverly Hills Courthouse wedding in early 2020, but then COVID came for us and our plans were put on hold.

Flash-forward to late 2020 and it still seemed uncertain whether the courthouse would reopen for wedding ceremonies, so they recalibrated their plans.

Charlotte & Leo are both from the UK 🇬🇧, and since hunkering down in their neighborhood of Los Feliz during quarantine, they realized they really wanted a photographic record of their time spent in Los Angeles 🌴, knowing ultimately they would go back home to the UK one day.

We were lucky too because right before the December 2020 COVID holiday surge hit us, we were able to spend a few hours together visiting some of their favorite spots and holding a tiny ceremony for them at the 🌱Ferndale Nature Trail🌱.

I love being a tourist in *your* town. With you as the tour guide and my camera ready, I follow you as we navigate through your personal histories and trace the emotional geography of your lives, at least for just this moment in time.

I can’t imagine a more fascinating and gratifying way to spend my days! Dropping in to create your *proof of life*, if only for a few hours, before we go our separate ways.

Happy one-year anniversary Charlotte & Leo! How beautiful you two are, along with the lives you two are building. ❤️🌴🇬🇧

PS- Shortly after completing this post, Charlotte wrote to tell me that she didn’t know it at the time, but she was pregnant during our portrait-shoot / micro wedding ceremony. They now have a beautiful baby girl, and it makes me so happy to look at these photos now in this new context! Life is incredible, wow.

If you are interested in my wedding work, contact me below and tell me about your day. I would be honored to capture your moments.

I am fully vaccinated+boosted against COVID and interested to hear all about how you choose to mark the occasion during these times.
