BIPOC Craft Fair Recap, Frogtown, Los Angeles
The BIPOC Craft Fair is complete and I’m overwhelmed by all the kind people I met who gave their support! I sold so many zines to like-minded people and I’ve been high on life for days after it ended.
The first photo is a little altar that I made at my table for my Cuban mother and grandmother. It felt right to honor them and the influence they had on me.
I can also say that I sold out on my photo zine, Pastness! You might be able to still get your hands on a copy at Skylight Books Art Annex in Los Feliz! Last I checked, they had 2 copies still available for purchase.
And an extra thank you for everyone who gobbled up my Arroz con Pollo, a favorite dish of mine from when I was growing up. Arroz con pollo is a group dish that gets made on Sunday or on special occasions in Cuba. I served scoops to hungry bellies until it was all gone!! I know my grandma would have been so happy to see me sharing her go-to Cuban dish with all you beautiful strangers. I feel so much pride. 🇨🇺❤️
